Polyphasic Sleeping Patterns
Okay, now. This is my first blog, ever (hooray!), and I have decided to devote it to my interests in polyphasic sleep. I have never attempted it, but if it comes up in google, I've read about it. My favourite is Steve Pavlina's blog about his opinions and thoughts on polyphasic sleep.
Now, for those of you who don't know, polyphasic sleep is sleeping several times a day. There are a few different types (for the record, monophasic is the type most people currently use, sleeping once a day). There is also biphasic, but I'll talk about that later. The types of polyphasic sleep are as follows:
Everyman - one core sleep of approximately 3 hours at night, and three shorter naps during the day.
Uberman - six naps of 20 minutes each, spaced evenly throughout the day (eg. 2am, 6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, 10pm). Harder than the everyman, but easier than the dymaxion.
Dymaxion - similar to the uberman, but far more difficult. A person will sleep for 30 minutes every 8 hours.
Due to my current circumstances, I'm not able to try the Uberman. I mean, if I'm going to do this, might as well go all out (I don't want to do the dymaxion. I haven't read of anyone who has done it either). I am finishing a stressful year at school, 2 months of a little more research and I will be ready to attempt.
